Nestled in the Pocono Mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania, Bushkill Falls offers eight cascading tiers set against a backdrop of dense forest and rugged rock formations. Well-maintained trails and wooden walkways bring you close enough to feel the spray of the cascades. Every turn reveals a new perspective—whether you’re framing the main falls or capturing a quiet stream trickling through mossy boulders. Scroll down to dive into a curated selection of photos and videos that bring Bushkill Falls’ dynamic beauty to life.
Hiking Bushkill Falls
Bushkill Falls offers color-coded trails, each with differing in scenery, length, and challenge. It’s important to note that all the trails involve steps and stairways, and are not advised for people with limited mobility. In addition the trails are not wheelchair or stroller accessible. However, there is Dingmans Falls in the Nearby NPS Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area that offers a flat boardwalk trail to its namesake beautiful natural cascade — the second highest waterfall in Pennsylvania.
Bushkill Falls’ trails are well-maintained routes featuring steps, stairways, and bridges—ranging from a gentle 15-minute loop to a more challenging two-mile hike.
The Green Trail is the easiest, taking you to the Main Falls in about 15 minutes with gentle steps and no steep climbs. You can step it up on the Yellow Trail an easy-to-moderate 45-minute circuit that adds Lower Gorge Falls, Laurel Glen, and the Upper Canyon. For a longer trip, the Blue Trail leads you to Pennell Falls in roughly 1 hour and 15 minutes, over occasional steps and rocky stretches. The trail is longer but is not terribly challenging. And my personal favorite is the Red Trail. While the Red Trail is described as being for more seasoned hikers, it is actually more of moderate difficulty. The Red Trail spans roughly two miles and takes just over two hours to visit all eight cascades—including Bridal Veil Falls. The Red Trail is the most “comprehensive” trail, making it the ideal way to see Bushkill’s waterfalls in one loop.
